At MCM, we want our dancers to have a great experience as they learn and grow in the art of dance. In order for the studio to operate at standards of excellence, we ask our customers to review and gain an understanding of our policies. The studio reserves the right to make changes to these policies at any time.

 

Classes:

Student placement is based on subject, age, experience, and level. Class placement is at the discretion of MCM. The length of class a student takes depends on years of dance taken and ability of the student. Classes may be changed to ensure each dancer is placed in the appropriate class. MCM Dance Studio reserves the right to make changes to classes, combine classes, or cancel classes. A class must have at least 5 students enrolled to continue.

 

Attendance & Punctuality:

Students are to be to class on time and picked up promptly after class. We are not responsible for students left before or after class or once they have exited the building. Please be sure to use the restroom prior to entering class. Parents of small children, your help is greatly appreciated in this matter.

 

Regular class attendance is of upmost importance and is necessary to ensure steady progress & growth in dance education. Dancers who are absent may get behind in progress as well as material. It is the student’s responsibility to ask about and learn missed material.

 

In the event of inclement weather, MCM Dance Studio will follow the closures of Bryan ISD. We will have classes in the cases of delayed school start time. In the event of an unexpected closure out of our control, such as weather, power outage, etc., we will try to hold make-up classes if possible. Notifications will be sent via email and Facebook for closures. Tuition refunds will not be given for missed classes in these cases.

 

Classroom Attire:

-Proper dance attire is required for all classes. Having each student dressed appropriately allows the instructor to teach and correct proper body alignment, which is key in dance.

-Cover-up or Warm-ups must be worn by all dancers to and from class. Any excess clothing must be removed promptly after stretch and warm up in each class.

-Hair should be tightly secured away from face for all classes.

-No jewelry that dangles, especially earrings.

-Any excess clothing, accessories, hair wear that becomes distracting to either the dancer or other students will asked to be removed.

 

Combination Classes: All are required to wear the studio leotard for class. The studio leotard is available to purchase at the studio.

Ballet: Required studio leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Optional- ballet skirt (We prefer stringless ballets, which are available for purchase at the studio.)

Jazz: Leotard, tights, tan spilt-sole jazz shoes. Optional- booty shorts or jazz pants.

Pointe: Same as ballet, pointe shoes.

Company C: Required company uniform, tights, and appropriate shoes.

 

Classroom Rules:

-All items brought in the dance room are to be labeled- including shoes, clothing, bag, etc. Items not needed for class should not be brought in the dance room. Please keep up with your belongings. MCM is not responsible for items left at the studio. Items left at the studio are placed in the Lost & Found and will be donated after recital.

-Cell phones must be on silent if brought in the dance room. A student is not allowed to check phone while in class.

-Students are to follow the instruction of the teacher or any other MCM staff member.

-Students causing disruption or distraction to class will be asked to sit out or leave the room until appropriate behavior resumes.

-No food, drink, or gum allowed in dance room. Bottled water is allowed.

-Parents, visitors, and other students are not allowed in the dance room during classes. This causes distraction to the dancers, taking away valuable teaching time.

-Class observation will be held 4 times during the dance year. Please see the Studio Calendar for visitation weeks. The observation windows are open at all times, however, we do not require parents to stay each class.

 

Studio Rules:

-No food or drink allowed in the building except bottled water! Please throw all trash away to help us maintain a presentable facility. \

-No running in the studio.

-Students should not be left unattended in the studio when they are not dancing during their scheduled class time. 

 

Photography & Video Release:

MCM Dance Studio reserves the right to use any photographs or video footage captured at the studio, during class, at performances and/or other activities in print material, on our website, or any other social media.

 

Liability:

Parents, guardians, and students waive the right to any legal action against MCM Dance Studio and/or any involved personnel due to theft, injury or accident sustained by me or my child in classes or on studio premises before or after class, or at any other outside studio activities, including recitals, workshops, or performances.

 

Payments & Tuition

-A $50 registration fee is required for each student each dance session in order to enroll for classes. An additional $30 registration fee is due for all company members each dance session. Registration fee is drafted at the time of enrollment.

-If you choose not to participate in automatic draft, you must still provide a credit card on your account. The card will not be charged unless necessary. MCM reserves the right to charge any unpaid tuition or past due fees to the card on file.

-A $10 late fee will be applied to tuition and/or other fees if payment not made by due date.

-A $5 discount on monthly tuition will be given to families with two or more children living in the same household that are enrolled in dance.

-There will be a $25 fee for all returned payments including credit cards and checks. Returned payments must be handled in a timely manner.

-You will not receive a monthly bill/statement from MCM for tuition. You may log in to your account on our portal at anytime to view charges and payments.

-If you choose to withdrawal from classes, you must notify MCM in writing before the last class of the month. Verbal notifications are not accepted. Monthly tuition will be charged until notification is given.

-We do not refund tuition for classes missed. We do not pro-rate classes. Full tuition is due each month (9 months in a dance year) regardless of the number of weeks per month. We do not give discounts or tuition reductions for months with holidays. Please see our Calendar for dates.

 

Tuition Payment Methods:

• Payment in full for Year- 5% discount will be given on base tuition fees. Must be paid the first week of classes.
• Payment in full for Semester- 5% discount will be given on base tuition fees. Must be paid the first week of classes in September and January.
• Mandatory Monthly Automatic Debit or Credit Card Draft- Drafts on the 3rd of each month.

**Cash/check payments NOT accepted for monthly payments.

 

Tuition Schedule:

-September- May: Full monthly tuition

-No refunds on registration, tuition, costume fees, or recital fees.

 

Recital & Costumes:

-Recital participation is not required. If you choose to NOT participate in recital, please send a note on the portal stating “student’s first and last name does not wish to participate in recital”.  Unless notified in this way, it is assumed all students will participate in recital and the recital fee and costume fee will be charged, and costume(s) will be ordered.

-A recital fee of $100.00 per dancer or $125.00 per company dancer is due by March 1st.

-Recital fees are non-refundable.

-Costume fees range between $60-$90 per costume.

-Costume deposit of $100 or $200 for Company C members must be paid by October 15th and the balance will be due once they have been ordered. Once costumes are ordered, they are not refundable. Measuring and ordering of costumes is a timely process. Costumes will not be ordered until payment has been made. Each class orders approximately 2 costumes depending on class type. Additional costumes aside from base class costumes must be paid in full before the costume is ordered. There will not be any costumes ordered for students enrolling after January 1st. In some cases, costumes may not be available to order for late enrollees.
